Having trouble maintaining your motivation during your off-season, due to COVID-19 restrictions, or any other reason.

Organize your goals by using the SMARTER acronym! This will help you set process-oriented, realistic goals that are specific to YOUR performance expectations and wants.


Once you have set these goals write them down and review them regularly. Goals are most effective when they are seen as living documents that are dynamic and constantly evolving.

You should also focus on the degree of attainment and not absolute attainment. In other words, focus on the progress that you make each day, week, and month and not whether or not you have achieved that larger outcome goal at the end of the tunnel.


What does it mean to be mindful? Paying attention to what is happening right now, in the present moment, both internally and externally.

This is much easier said than done! There are so many different types of distractions and things that can pull our attention away from the present moment.
